Dr. Barbara Custer is an Award-Winning Bay Area Doctor and Author of “The World of Edible Medicine”

Dr. Barbara Custer OMD is the owner/founder of East West Optimum Health. She is a graduate of the North American College of Acupuncture Vancouver Canada and did a clinical training in Hong Kong . She has taken advanced classes at the Meji School of Oriental Medicine as well as an internship with Dr. Tamura Heiji in Kyoto, Japan. She received her PhD in 1983 from The California Acupuncture School in Santa Barbara, California. She currently holds a state and national license. 

She’s been acknowledged by San Francisco Focus Magazine as one of the top Eastern Medicine Doctors in the San Francisco Bay Area, voted Best of Marin, voted Patients' Choice Winner for Chinese Medicine by Opencare.com and won best medical clinic in Mill Valley. She has been practicing Eastern Medicine for thirty years and has helped many people find optimum health and reverse disease patterns.

She is the author of The World of Edible Medicine, a magazine-style, visually inspiring book, that educates people about both the ancient wisdom and current scientific research of medicinal fruits, flowers, spices, vegetables, and herbs and the importance of using food as the most basic medicine.
